In 1989, Microsynth was founded as the first private DNA synthesis laboratory in Switzerland.
Since then the company has grown, including an expansion project for our 15th anniversary which included the completion of a new wing in December 2004. Microsynth’s spirit of innovation, and commitment to providing quality services has led to growth within the company as well. Divisions such as GMO analysis, Genotyping, and DNA sequencing now provide standard services. In fall 2005, RNA synthesis has been added to our array of high quality, reliable products and services.
In June 2005, Microsynth officially completed the certification process for all departments according to ISO 9001:2000. Moreover, Microsynth achieved the accreditation of the analysis divisions according to ISO 17025.
Certification and accreditation is our way of showing our commitment to the continuous improvement of all our services that enables us to keep customer satisfaction at its highest.
In 2008, Microsynth successfully participated on a ring trial for the PCR-detection of Bovine Virus Diarrhoe (BVDV) and tested over 320’000 samples from 1st of October 2008 until 31st of December 2008. The surveillance program continues until 31st of December 2010.
We have introduced our new next generation sequencing technology (454) at the end of 2007. This technology enables us to produce over 400 Mb per run in 1’000’000 reads per run with 400 bases reads on average during 24 hours only. In the meantime, we have served many customers all over the world.
